Invite Input to the Workday Par-tay!

What is one of the quickest ways to a functional setting? Asking for input. Not only will it offer a glimpse into the genius of your work peeps it will create a sense of belonging and acceptance while encouraging engagement and creating cohesion. Wow - you just did all that with one easy question!



Simply saying "I could use some ideas on this, this is what I'm thinking but doesn't feel on point, what do you think?" is a huge green flag no matter where you are in the org chart. It shows strong leadership and establishes a sense of trust. It also displays empathy and openness by showing you value those around you enough to make the ask and listen. Besides, people LOVE to share their knowledge and perspective.


When you make the ask really listen to the input you are receiving, acknowledge and be obvious about what stands out to you as helpful and how you could implement or incorporate.


Take a minute to consider the setting. Is this something to crowd source in a meeting or group chat? Or, perhaps, take the time for some one on one discussion.
